Conservation area and listed buildings

Gainsborough has a rich and varied past. Many of today's streets patterns, buildings and structures may be traced to its time as a medieval market town, a 17th and 18th century river port or the 19th century manufacturing town.

The town has a track-record of successful restoration and conversion projects, including Marshall's Yard, Granary Wharf and Whitton's Mill. Attracting further investment to bring these buildings back to use is a key priority for the Council.
